Public safety cameras being added at many locations in Brookfield

The Village of Brookfield has been in the process of upgrading and adding security cameras at a number of locations throughout town to supplement existing public safety cameras to better protect and safeguard the community.  Camera systems can assist with the identification and eventual apprehension of offenders in crimes and other matters in which an officer or witness did not see it take place.

Cameras also assist the Village in viewing roadway conditions, to help determine if there's a need for snow removal or if there is roadway flooding, infrastructure concerns and traffic flow. Work is currently underway on the project. You may see lift trucks installing cameras and other infrastructure at a number of locations around town, which include but are not limited to:

  • Major intersections along 31st Street, Ogden Avenue and 47th Street
  • Washington Avenue and Prairie Avenue
  • Veterans Memorial Circle
  • Our Village parks

The work is slated to be completed by the end of March 2024.
