Commuter Parking

Brookfield’s three stops on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Metra line have made it a very commuter-friendly community. The Village of Brookfield offers several parking options for anyone interested in riding the train.

Daily ParkingIf you are only looking to catch the train occasionally, the Village of Brookfield has two parking lots available for daily parking.

Main Lot

The parking lot closest to the Brookfield Train Station is located behind the Municipal Building at 8820 Brookfield Avenue. Parking is $1.50 per day and can be paid in cash at the slot box, online at www.passportparking.com, or via Passport Parking’s smartphone app (available on iOS and Android devices).

Congress Park Lot

There is a second daily parking lot located at the Congress Park Metra stop. Parking is $2.50 per day and can be paid online at www.passportparking.com or via Passport Parking’s smartphone app (available on iOS and Android devices).

Parking PermitsIf you commute on a regular basis, you may want to consider purchasing a Commuter Parking Permit. Monthly permits are available for $30 per month and quarterly permits can be purchased for $90 per quarter. Permits are valid for designated parking spaces located at all three Metra stops on Brookfield and Burlington Avenues; permits do not allow for parking in the daily parking lots. Parking is first come first served and permits are not tied to any particular train stop.

Permits are sold beginning the 25th of the month prior to the month/quarter that the permit is issued for. Permits can be purchased in person at the Village Hall.  If you are unable to purchase a permit during our regular business hours, you can leave your payment in the dropbox in the Village Hall parking lot with your name, mailing address, and the month/quarter you wish to purchase and your permit will be mailed to you.
