Village Seeking Community Participation

In 2016, the Village of Brookfield received a major grant from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), to update the Comprehensive Plan. The Village is looking for resident participation through an online survey, to help update the Comprehensive Plan. The survey can be accessed on the Comprehensive Plan webpage under “Stakeholder Survey.”

A comprehensive plan is the community’s vision for the future of the Village with long range goals over a twenty year period. It is also the local government’s guide for actions and policies of future development. This plan is important because it helps the Village function smoothly, positively change, and shape the village for years to come. The plan also helps guide other documents working towards a common goal.

Currently, the Village and the Consultants are getting recommendations for the draft Plan. In order to produce a successful Comprehensive Plan update, participation from the community is imperative.
