Board of Fire and Police Commissioners

Human Resources supports the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners as it carries out the duties delegated by State of Illinois statutes, the Village of Brookfield Code and collective bargaining agreements in matters of sworn Fire and Police recruitment, testing, selection, promotion, appointment and disciplinary proceedings.

Meetings are held as needed in the Edward Barcal Hall Board Room in Village Hall 8820 Brookfield Avenue, Brookfield, IL 60513. Please check the “calendar” page of the Village website to see scheduled meetings and cancellations.

Members

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners consists of three members who are appointed by the Village President with the consent of the Board of Trustees. The term of office of each member of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is three years and until the successor is appointed and qualified.
