In 2017, the Village Board of Trustees adopted the text and map amendments which comprise the “Zoning Modernization” project. A major effect of Zoning Modernization is to allow greater density for projects constructed in the vicinity of the 3 Metra stations. The new zoning also streamlines the development process, requires high quality building material and design, creates a more walkable and sustainable built environment, and allows a more modern mix of uses.
These changes were recommended for approval unanimously by the Planning and Zoning Commission. The links below include more information about this project.
