With 2018 marking the 125th anniversary of Brookfield’s founding, the Bike Brookfield team is looking to bring some history to the upcoming May 19th bike event. If you own a vintage bike or any bike with some history to it, we strongly encourage you to show up at Bike Brookfield on the 19th of May and show off some history. “Vintage” bikes could come from the 1970s (like Schwinn “banana bikes” – see photo below) or older high wheelers from a century ago, to give you an idea.
To encourage vintage bike riders, the Bike Brookfield team will give extra raffle tickets to the owners of vintage bikes who want to share some local bike history at this fun event. And we will give a special prize to the best vintage bike at the event!
Vintage bike riders and anyone else interested in participating: all you need to do is register to get started and then show up! As a reminder this is a FREE event available to Brookfield residents, adults, kids (that no longer use training wheels), our neighbors in surrounding suburbs, Chicago-bike enthusiasts…pretty much anyone interested in exploring Brookfield by bike on May 19.
