DuBois Boulevard Closure at Ogden Avenue (002)_CROP
Important news regarding the DuBois Boulevard/Burlington Avenue Water Main Improvement Project:

In order to connect the new water main and disconnect the old one, the contractor will need to set up a temporary closure to through traffic on DuBois Boulevard at the north side of the DuBois Boulevard/Ogden Avenue intersection.

This work is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, April 23, and the street closure is expected to last from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on this day.

The contractor will be putting up additional traffic control signage at critical locations in advance of the Tuesday closure to alert vehicle traffic. Below is a summary of how vehicle access will be impacted on April 23:

  • DuBois Boulevard will be closed to through traffic at the north side of the Ogden/DuBois intersection.
  • Northbound traffic on DuBois Boulevard will be closed off at Ogden Avenue.
  • Southbound traffic on DuBois Boulevard will not be able to access Ogden Avenue.
  • The Congress Park Metra Station commuter parking lots, and any local traffic on DuBois Boulevard will still be accessible from Burlington Avenue, as Burlington Avenue will remain open.
  • The entrances to the parking lots will not be affected in any way, and the parking lot capacity will also not be affected.
  • Adjacent alleys to the north of Ogden Avenue will also remain open at all times for the purposes of turning off of DuBois prior to reaching Ogden.
  • Eastbound and westbound traffic on Ogden Avenue will NOT be affected. However, vehicles will not be able to turn northbound onto DuBois from Ogden.
  • All work will be backfilled and access will be opened completely by the end of the workday.

If there are any unforeseen circumstances (weather, etc.) that alter the schedule or timing of this temporary closure in any way, the Village will provide updates.
