Brookfield Hires New Director of Community Development

The Village is pleased to announce the hiring of Libby Popovic as its next Director of Community Development for the Village of Brookfield.

Ms. PopLibby Popovic_CROP - Copyovic has owned and managed a law firm focusing on various facets of land use, development and real estate for the past 14 years. Before assuming that role she worked for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office for seven years. 

She has been an active member of the Berwyn Development Corporation for the past six years and served on its Executive Board and the Economic Development Committee.

Ms. Popovic earned her Law Degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law and her Master of Public Administration degree from IIT Stuart School of Business. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University Chicago. 

Village Manager Tim Wiberg stated, “I look forward to tapping into Libby’s unique background in land development and code enforcement as she critically reviews and improves all facets of our Community Development Department. I am confident she will make immediate positive impacts on our community.” 

In looking forward to her new role, Ms. Popovic said, “I am honored and excited to join the Village of Brookfield and assume the role of Community Development Director. I am ready to collaborate and work closely with Tim, The Village Trustees and the community to advance the goals and vision of Brookfield in a purposeful and impactful manner. 

Ms. Popovic will begin work as the Director of Community Development on April 29.
