The Village of Brookfield is pleased to announce that it has embarked on a new Comprehensive Plan to guide its strategy in the next decade. In 2016 the Village secured a major grant from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to update the Village of Brookfield’s 2020 Master Plan. The Village engaged RATIO as the consulting firm to assist the Village with this update. In Illinois, a Comprehensive Plan is required by law.  That law empowers municipalities to analyze their community and plan for the future.  Each municipality’s Comprehensive Plan must contain certain elements, such as; a vision statement, a land use plan, a transportation plan, and a housing plan. Brookfield’s plan goes further it will study natural resources, community character, public art, economic development and it will focus on realistic ways to implement these plans.  Stay involved by signing up for the Village’s emails and reviewing the Comprehensive Plan’s website.
