After months of hard work and amazing participation by the community, the Village Board of Trustees is ready for final review of the Village’s Comprehensive Plan on Monday, January 8, 2018. As the major document guiding Village strategy, the “Comp Plan” will set the agenda for Village actions over the coming decade.
However you got involved – public meetings, open houses, seeing the float at the 4th of July Parade, social media, Village website updates, the online survey, the Planning & Zoning Commission forum – the Village thanks you for your contribution! Your input helped to create a fantastic draft of the Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan is both a visionary document and a practical guide. The Plan sets a broad vision for a healthier and more resilient community over the long run, laying out long term goals that can sustain the community’s future. It also serves as a practical road map, since it will guide development in Brookfield for the next ten to twenty years and it covers topics like economic development, land use, sustainability, community facilities and much much more.
On January 8th, 2018 the Village Board will review the most recent version of this Plan. The Plan has gone through several rounds of edits and each time the Plan has gotten closer to reflecting the community’s vision and fine tuning goals and strategies to make that vision a reality.
