Beautify Brookfield’s Duck Race Nets Prizes…and Funding for Future Art Projects

On a beautiful sunny late September day, approximately 750 rubber duckies raced down the Salt Creek in order to raise money for Beautify Brookfield, a non-profit organization supporting the efforts of Brookfield’s Beautification Commission as it promotes beautification projects within the Village of Brookfield. This year’s event raised over $3,000 after paying out a $500 1st prize to “lucky duck” William Solomon, $250 2nd prize to Sarah Weston, and
$100 3rd prize to Patti Myer.

The fund raiser will dedicate moneys for future art and beautification projects within the Village.  This year, the Village partnered with Beautify Brookfield on an attractive landscaping project on the west end of town along Ogden (near Sherwin Williams) and will pursue more projects in the coming years.

The Duck Race was a small part of a wonderful day in Brookfield that also included the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fine Arts Festival and its weekly summer Farmers Market. Thank you to all who purchased ducks and attended the various events and we hope you can join us again next year!
